PM Spirits

Provider of Geeky Spirits

AZUL FORCE, Blanco Tequila

Throughout our fourteen years of peddling spirits, we’ve sought not only to source high-quality products but also to be actively involved in their production. AZUL FORCE is the latest example of our desire to play a role in the creation of a spirit from inception through production and bottling. Azul Force exists because we were looking for a blanco tequila priced for cocktails made to our exact specifications. What better way is there to guarantee quality than to be the one making production decisions?

Helped by our friend Jose Luis Gutierrez, we headed to Tonaya, southwest of Guadalajara in Jalisco. Owned by the Corona brothers, NOM 1615 has four autoclaves that can hold 40 tons of agave at a time. No horno nor diffusor is used. There are around 50 million agave plants on the family’s land, and the agave used for Azul Force are, on average, 6 years with a sugar content of 24 brix. These agaves are wild fermented with no added yeast before being distilled on a column still. The water used for proofing comes from an aquifer and is treated by reverse osmosis.
