INTERVIEW WITH THE ARTIST

My name is Sophie C’est la Vie and I am a tattooer, artist, amateur gardener and all around maker of all types of things. I love traveling and botanicals and can never find enough time to do all of the creative ventures that I want to do but I never stop trying. I live and work in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and our adored dog.

Where are you from?
I was born in central Texas.

How long you been tattooing for?
I have been tattooing for 14 years this summer!

Where do you work?
I co-own and tattoo out of a private studio in Brooklyn called This Time Tmrw.

Where do you find your influence?
I find influence from so many different places, textiles, my garden, botanicals, and traveling to name a few.

Tell us a bit more about the image on the bottle?
The design I created for PM reflects “Metamorphosis” . I created it to encompass the idea of being so many different things at once and constant growth. I feel like it reflects some of the thoughts I have of myself around the idea of wanting to do so many different creative things and not wanting to be categorized into just one.

The tattoo series reflects PM’s experimental treatment of L’Encantada Armagnac through finishing in ex-bourbon barrels. They have been selected and finished by PM Spirits to refine and evolve the spirit’s complexity.
