Vedrenne liqueurs
Vedrenne are a rare example of a producer at the very top of their game – their products are the apex of the liqueur category. These are quality products made from quality ingredients, not the neon colored, corn syrup laden bottles that torment many cocktail enthusiasts. Vedrenne has been in this business for 100 years and has mastered the art of coaxing sublime flavor out of fruit, herbs, and flowers.
Founded in 1923 in the village of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy, Vedrenne specializes first and foremost in blackcurrant liqueurs as well as liqueurs made from various other fruits and plants. Their calling card is crème de cassis, the oft-overlooked but widely-celebrated liqueur made from blackcurrants. With a centuries-old tradition in France, crème de cassis is probably best known in the US for its usage in the Kir Royale although we'd be remiss not to also mention Jeffrey Morgenthaler's modern classic cocktail, the Bourbon Renewal.
